I will never understand why some people do not like autumn. For me it is the most beautiful season – and the one in which the home shines most brightly. When the leaves glow outside and the air smells of woodsmoke and wet leaves, I want to create the counterpart inside: warm, golden, fragrant.

Autumn in country style means the colour palette shifts. Away from the pastel tones of summer, towards warm, earthy, rich tones. Terracotta, rust brown, mustard yellow, deep burgundy, muted olive green.
Swapping the cushion covers, a wool blanket in rust brown or mustard yellow over the sofa, a warmer rug: that is the quickest way to bring autumn into the living room.
